LEARN TO READ QURAN AND
INTERMEDIATE TAJWEED
The literal definition of Tajweed is “betterment”. According to the applied definition, Tajweed means pronouncing every letter from its point of articulation whilst giving each letter its right.
The aim is to perfect the recitation of the Qur’an so that our recitation is in line with the recitation of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and in accordance with the command of Allah:
“and recite the Qur’an distinctly” (The Qur’an 73:4)Beginners
This level is designed for Beginners who are unable to read or write Arabic. Students in this level will begin by learning to read and write the letters of the alphabet, joining the letters together to formulate short 3 letter words, vowel sounds and basic Tajweed rules. Alhamdulillah, in 10 weeks previous Beginners classes have been able to read directly from the Qur’an. Intermediate Tajweed & Tafsir
Students reading directly from the Qur’an. Emphasis is placed on practical reading of the Qur’an and practical application of the Tajweed rules. Tajweed rules are further expanded and taught in greater detail. Greater emphasis is placed on fluency in reading and practical application.
Memorization
The aim of teaching this subject is to understand the essential message contained in the Revelation through the clarification and elucidation of meanings within the Qur’an.
The aim of this subject is to memorize the verses of the Qur’an, in accordance with the verse Allah revealed to his Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him):
“Recite that which has been revealed upon you of the Book.”(The Qur’an 29:45)
Recitation of the Qur’an keeps the heart of a Muslim steadfast, rewards the reciter for every letter read, opens the study of the Qur’anic sciences and realities to progression, allows the reciter to reflect on the sermons, knowledge and blessings contained within and allows the duties of invitation and reformation to continue in an excellent manner.
Accordingly, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) stressed the excellence of the memorization of Qur’an:
“The best amongst you is he who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”(Bukhari, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasai & Ibn Maja)
