A deeper understanding of the Five Pillars
This course provides a detailed study of jurisprudence (Fiqh) relating to the five pillars of Islam together with evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah that are the basis of the rulings. Cleansing in Islam will also be covered, being an important component of the five pillars. While Hanafi School will be the primary school studied, views and evidence from Shafi’i, Maliki and Hanbali schools will also be provided on important matters.

- Cleanliness and purity in Islam
- Rulings for Wudu, Tayammum and Mas’h
- Rulings for Salat
- Rulings for Adhan, Sujud as-sahw, congregational prayer & Friday prayer
- Rulings for traveller prayer, the Eid prayer and the funeral prayer
- Rulings for Zakat and Sadaqat Al Fitr
- Further rulings for fasting and I’tikaf
- Rulings for hajj, ‘Umrah and Udhiyah
