*Danny Mikati is currently the Team Leader of Domestic Violence & Youth at Bankstown Local Area Command. He manages the Domestic Violence Liaison Officers (DVLOs) and the Youth Liaison Officers(YLOs) of the Bankstown Local Area Command, and oversights youth issues , including over 77 schools in the Bankstown Local Area Command of the NSW Police Force. He is the Chairman of the Bankstown Branch of the Police Association of NSW and the first Arab/Islamic officer to receive the Commissioner’s Medal of Courage. He also has a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science Majors)and minors in Arab and Islamic Studies from Sydney University. He is a martial arts instructor , with a 5th Dan Master black belt in Taekwondo. He has spearheaded numerous youth targeted programs in avenues such as Healthy Relationships, Crime Prevention, Domestic and Sexual Assault awareness and various others. He has been a member of the PCYC Bankstown since 2000 and has instructed and volunteered there since 2003. He Coordinates and teaches Cultural Awareness to new recruits and is consulted on specific issues within the Arab and Islamic community.
