Bankstown City is home to a growing number of Muslims (25,982 according to 2006 Census). People are offering Juma’h prayers in halls as there are not enough Masajid. Bankstown residents are in great need of a Masjid and Islamic centre which can fulfill the needs of Muslim men, women and children. Saarban Islamic Trust has purchased a property (630 Sq.m, 3A Commercial zoning) at Meredith Street for $790,000 just in the heart of Bankstown. Bankstown City Council Town planner has advised us in the preliminary meeting that this property is suitable for a place of worship.
