Path to Paradise – Water Wells for Schools of Sacred Knowledge in Mauritania
Foundations for Tomorrow would like to bring your attention to two projects that are a Sadaqah Jariyah (Ongoing charity) in Mauritania, West Africa.
Project 1: The completion of a well project in the Mahdara (Traditional Islamic University) of Murabit Ahmad Fal. Pictures of the original wells at Murabit Ahmed Fal’s village are in our photo album entitled “Murabit Ahmed Fal’s village” on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Foundations-For-Tomorrow/114384798233.
These wells are still being used until the proper well is completed. Many of these hand dug wells dry up in the summer.
▪ The well is being completed by funds completely raised within Mauritania by two private donors.
▪ Funds are needed to build a water tower, buy about 1,000 meters of pipe and cover costs associated with running the pump to distribute water to the school.
Project 2: Establish a fund to cover the costs associated with running a generator for the well in the village of Murabit al Hajj.
▪ The well has been completed.
▪ $500 a month is required to cover the costs of diesel for the well’s generator to run the pump.
We would like to get 20 sponsors paying $25/month to cover these costs.
Imagine… $500 will provide water for many scholars, over 100 students, hundreds of people, livestock, and water to irrigate small household gardens that provide much needed nutrition in the Sahara desert.
May Allah Ta’ala reward you for your help and efforts.
