MuslimVillage.com believes that disunity of the Ummah (Muslim nation) is one of the most critical issues confronting us in this current age. In a world full of superficiality and individuality we have lost our sense of love and respect for each other as human beings.

As individuals, organisations, even nation states; if we are not united as one global Ummah of Muslim brothers & sisters in Islam, how can we even begin to properly fulfil the same type of relationship with our non Muslim brothers & sisters in humanity.

We undertand that as an Ummah we will have our differences of opinion. But we believe that at the core of Islam there are fundamental principles that all Muslims agree upon.

Indeed our Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him and all the Prophets) taught us that:

“Whoever prays like us and faces our Qibla and eats our slaughtered animals is a Muslim and is under Allah’s and His Apostle’s protection. So do not betray Allah by betraying those who are in His protection.” – narrated by Anas bin Malik – Volume 1, Book 8, Number 386: (Sahih Bukhari)

We have thus drafted the MuslimVillage.com Statement Of Unity (SOU) based on the Amman Message as a reflection of the beliefs that guide us as an organisation. We invite other Muslim organisations and individuals, that also value the principle of unity and agree with the noble tenants espoused by the SOU, to endorse it by signing below.
