We all know that men and women are very different. Their differences stay in a lot of things, both exterior and interior. Behaviors, mindsets, attitudes to life, clothing, physical and sentimental features are actually strongly diverse for men and women.
Religious Gap Marks The Difference Between Males And Females
However, the gap between the two sexes doesn’t limit to what everyone can see: there are also religious differences that come to grow that gap. Islam is strongly rooted in the big differences between men and women and you can easily see that from the many rules all Muslims have to respect in their everyday life. If you are based outside an Islam-based country or you just want to gather the basic differences between males and females according to Islam, just take a look at the following list of points:
- Clothing and accessories
Let’s start with one of the easiest aspects everyone can perceive of a Muslim. Clothing is probably the biggest element that marks a strong difference between males and females in Islamic cultures. First of all, men can wear western clothing if they want, but women can’t. Another big thing to highlight is that women have to wear clothes below their ankles, but men don’t. In fact, you can see Muslim women wearing very long clothes all year. But here’s the most powerful clothing difference between men and women in Islam: women have to wear Hijab, which covers both face and body.
When it comes to accessories, women are allowed to wear jewelry (they usually have very precious golden items). - Marriage life
It’s not a big piece of news for everyone in the world knowing that only men can decide on both marriage and divorce. Women can only accept what men decide for them. Also, men can have more than one wife, but women can’t have more than one husband. During their life as a married couple, the man has to provide his wife with maintenance and support because women are forbidden to do that themselves. Keep in mind that if you want to visit a Muslim married woman in her home, she has to ask her husband for permission. If he doesn’t agree with your visit, you have no way to go and visit her. Similarly, married women need their husbands’ permission to go out from home, which isn’t necessary for men. - Islam is a male-dominated religion
For all those who aren’t Muslims, the fact that Islam is a clearly male-dominated religion may sound pretty unfair. But the reality is that no women appear among Prophets or Messengers. Also, no woman is allowed to become a political or military leader. Even during congregation prayers, women have to stay in a separate place from men: the best row for women is the last while for men is the first.
It’s Not Just A Matter Of Religion
But if you are thinking that these huge differences between men and women depend only on religious belief, you are wrong: there is scientifically explained evidence that women and men are very different.
First of all, biology teaches that each sex comes with a specific and proper set of chromosomes. From that, all the other differences follow, as well:
- Brain difference
Men love movement, action, strategy. They are designed for hunting, fighting, challenges that imply physical efforts. It’s not a coincidence if men tend to choose different careers than women (at least, traditionally). Men and women appear to be different also for how they choose food or games to play:
this men and women comparison in gaming shows very well that while men prefer strategy games like poker and blackjack, women seem to be more attracted to play luck games, typically slots or dice. This trend stays pretty the same, no matter if you play in a land-based or online casino. - Communication difference
But men and women are different also in how they communicate. Women are worldwide known for talking much more than men: women need to share every thought or idea, they want to compare their feelings with each other, they like reckoning while talking and debating. On the contrary, men seem to be less prone to verbal communication (although there are big exceptions to this general trend) and more likely to take action in a variety of life situations.
Also, women are designed to give life to babies, they are instinctively prone to take care of others, to heal, and be close to those who need help. The male half of the world is called to protect their family and territorial spaces. No sex is better than the other one, they are just made perfect to stay together like two halves make a unity.
