Ibn Masud (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever reads surah AI-Waqi’ah (sura 56) every night, starvation shall never afflict him.”
Ibn Masud (Radiallahu Anhu) used to bid his daughters recite this surah every night.
The virtues of surah Al Waqi’ah are also reported in many ahadith.
There is a hadith to the effect that whoever reads surahs Al-Hadid, AI-Waqi’ah and Ar-Rahman, is reckoned amongst the dwellers of Jannat-ul Firdaus (the highest level of Paradise).
In another hadith, it is stated that surah AI-Waqi’ah, is surah Al-Ghinaa (Prosperity). Read it and teach it to your children.
Another hadith says: “Teach it to your wives.” Lady ‘Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) is reported to have emphasized its reading.
But it would be low minded on our part to read it only for the sake of petty worldly gain. If instead, it is read for the contentment of the heart and for the sake of the next world, then worldly gains will come to us without asking.
