Alhamdulillah, there are many airlines all over the world which are owned by Muslims. MashaAllah, they have ultra-modern facilities for our comfort and offer services par excellence!
However, most of these world-class airlines are lagging behind in one thing: they do not have have in their planes any special facilities for offering Salah.
Salah is the major form of worship that a Muslim offers five times a day regularly. It is an obligation upon every Muslim and you have no excuse whatsoever when it comes to offering Salah, and that also includes the period when you are on a journey.
When these airlines have large varieties of facilities for the comfort of their passengers like all types of foods and drinks (including the haraam ones like liquors), all kinds of entertainments (like viewing of latest Hollywood and Bollywood movies), private suites, shower spas, flat-bed seats, custom lighting and also inflight Wi-Fi throughout the aircraft, besides all kinds of safety precautions, then what stops them from providing facilities to their Muslim passengers for offering Salah?
Wouldn’t it be a great relief to the Muslims passengers if they travel with the least tension about looking for place to make wudhu (ablution) and a place to perform Salah? In fact these airlines should go a step ahead and provide in their planes special places for the ladies also to perform their Salah.
There are only a couple of airlines that have designated spaces for offering Salah. However, they too do not have special facilities to make wudhu.
How gratifying would it be if all the major airlines of the world, irrespective of whether they are Muslim owned or not, comply with our request?
