And what was the opinion of The Prophet (Allah’s peace be upon him) concerning his beloved wife, Sayida Ayesha (Allah be pleased with her)? The Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) said that, “The superiority of Ayesha to other ladies is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. a meat and bread dish) to other meals.”
Once the Prophet (Allah’s peace be upon him) said to her: “You were shown to me in a dream. An angel brought you to me, wrapped in a piece of silken cloth, and said to me, ‘This is your wife.’ I removed the piece of cloth from your face, and there you were.” I said to myself, ‘If it is from Allah, then it will surely be.’”
Thus Allah Most High chose Sayida Ayesha (Allah be pleased with her) to be the wife of his beloved Prophet (Allah’s peace be upon him).
When the mother of believers, Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), asked the Prophet (Allah’s peace be upon him) to have people give him the gifts wherever he is rather than only at the quarters of Ayesha, he said: “Do not hurt me regarding Ayesha, as the Divine Inspirations do not come to me on any of the beds except that of Ayesha.”
His daughter Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) asked him the same and he replied: “O my daughter! Don’t you love whom I love?” She replied in the affirmative.
The Messenger of Allah loved Sayida Ayesha so much that when asked by Sayiduna Amru Ibn Al ‘Aas, “Who is the most beloved person to you?” He declared before all of the companions present, “Ayesha.” (may Allah be pleased with her).
May Allah grant us all true love for His sake.
