Earlier this year riyadhconnect.com reported that Al-Tayyeb Yousef, a Sudanese shepherd in Saudi Arabia was rewarded for his loyalty and honesty after a video clip of the man refusing to sell one of his sponsor’s sheep went viral on social media.
Yousef was awarded a check worth SR 20,000 by Al-Hussaini Foundation. Some philanthropists also gave Yousef another check worth the same amount.
A delegation of members from the Sudanese community welcomed Yousef at the Sudanese embassy in Riyadh in the presence of Al-Sheikh Adel Al-Mahalawi, the person who filmed the video clip. Al-Mahalawi is also the Imam and Lecturer at Al-Sa’egh mosque in Al-Medlej province.
The Sudanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdel Hafez Ibrahim said that Yousef’s deed represents the true Muslim morality. The ambassador added that such trustworthy people were the pride of his country. He then also granted a reward of SR 200,000 to the shepherd, as a tribute to his deeds. The Sudanese Minister of Investment will attend the tribute ceremony, reported Akhbaar24.
