As per recent reports, it has been unveiled that a new scheme has been initiated by Bidvest Bank for South African Muslims.
The bank, which is credited as the world’s largest travel card provider, is well aware of the currency conversion problem. Its officials have affirmed that when South African Muslims go on the Hajj, they have to face secondary currency conversion in Saudi Arabia.
In order to save the cost of the conversion, the bank has come up with World Currency Card. The card will allow the pilgrimage to convert the currency as per the destination currency.
“We believe the card will become a regular feature of travel planning whenever South African Muslims leave for Mecca, either specifically for the Hajj or for the purposes of Umrah”, affirmed Neil Capazorio, head of Bidvest Bank’s card division.
Some of the many other advantages of the card are people will be updated about available balance in the card. Another important benefit is conversion rate certainty as the card is loaded with destination currency before departure.
There is no fuss about the card activation as it is quite quick and is a user-friendly card. It has been ensured that card’s security remains intact.
The date of this year’s Hajj is expected to fall between October 13 and 18, depending on moon sightings.
