More than 1.5 billion Muslims throughout the world fast for different hours. The longest fasting takes place In Iceland’s capital Reykjavik with 21 hours and 13 minutes, followed by Finland’s capital Helsinki with 19 hours and 50 minutes, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen with 19 hours and 30 minutes.
Fasting lasts 18 hours and 37 minutes in Russia’s capital Moscow, while Muslims from major New York city in the US fast for 16 hours and 21 minutes. Canada Ottawa’s Muslims fast for 18 hours and 23 minutes.
Argentina’s Ushuaia has the shortest fasting of the world this year with 9 hours and 20 minutes, followed by Australia’s Hobart with 11 hours and 7 minutes.

Being under a coup d’etat since July 3, 2013, Muslims in the Egyptian capital of Cairo fast for 14 hours and 52 minutes. Muslims from the Palestinian city of Gaza Muslims fast for 16 hours, where Lebanon’s capital Beirut spends 14 hours and 20 minutes, Damascus 15 hours and Baghdad 14 hours and 15 minutes fasting.
