DEATH, RESURRECTION AND AFTERLIFE
After tawhid (unity of God) belief in afterlife is the most often stressed tenet of Islam in the Qur’an. Nevertheless most people have doubts about the reality of afterlife. How do we know that life after death really exists? Can it be proven with rational argument? How do we interpret the events reported in hadith about the end of time? These are some of the questions that will be examined in depth.
This particular course has the following content:
- Five levels of life
- Islamic perspective of death
- Relationship between life and death
- Why should there be an end to the universe?
- How will qiyamah occur?
- Interpretations of hadith about Jesus (pbuh) and dajjal
- Proofs of bodily resurrection after death
- The nature of existence in heaven and hell
- The Qur’an on judgment and afterlife
