Seekers Guidance in collaboration with al-Ghazzali Centre offers another online course. Imam al-Muhasibi’s (781-857 CE) Treatise is a classic of early Islamic literature focussing on the fundamental principles, attitudes and conduct through an understanding of Islamic moral psychology. Taught by Imam Afroz Ali, this course will rely on Imam Zaid Shakir’s masterful translation and commentary, called the Treatise “a layman’s guide to Islamic spirituality”. Imam al-Muhasibi has structured the Treatise in such a manner that he provides us with a clear ability to understand the Islamic view of human development in general and salvation in particular.
This course has been further developed to include:
* A detailed commentary of the Treatise, providing a deep understanding of the moral framework proposed by Islam;
* A practical guide to putting into practice the messages of the Treatise;
* An introduction to human nature, behaviour and how it can be developed to nurture spiritual development, and how it can be corrupted that hinders it.
