A four-week study of the rulings regarding Zakat based on the Hanafi and Shafi’ schools of Fiqh. This course provides the essential knowledge that every Muslim is obligated to know in order to perform the pillar of Zakat correctly. With clear classification of rulings, the course covers:
- The requirements and conditions of Zakat. The different types of Zakat and how the Zakat is to be made from the different categories
- Categories of those who are eligible to receive Zakat
- Valid ways to distribute Zakat
- Zakatul Fitr
NOTE: This course is the 1st module of Certificate 2 of the Foundations Diploma in Islamic Sciences Program. It is also open to the public to give those who wish to attend only particular modules of the diploma the opportunity to register and attend those particular classes. You do not have to be part of the Diploma program to undertake this course.
