THANK-YOU TO ALL THE BULLDOGS FANS
To all Bulldogs Supporters
Firstly, can I thank you all for your overwhelming and undying support of our Football Team this year. We are all extremely pleased that we could repay your loyalty by winning the competition. The strong support you afforded the Team during the year and on Grand Final night was unquestionably a major factor in their success through the season and their ultimate success against the Roosters.
On another note. I have had a few complaints about the relatively impromptu event we ran prior to our Presentation Night last Wednesday. For those of you who were disappointed can I apologise. I have received some criticism for the fact that it didn’t last long, that it was very last minute, that the sound system was poor and that the Players should have been available to sign autographs and that it should have been a street parade.
The event was in fact very last minute as a response to a number of complaints we received from Season Ticket Holders and League Club Members who could not gain access to the League Club on Grand Final night to pay tribute to the Team. It was in response to this complaint from fans that the Players were asked to turn up early to the Presentation Night and allow their supporters to pay tribute to them. If this meant that we disappointed some people whilst trying to solve another problem then please accept the Club’s apologies. We were in fact trying to do more for our fans not less.
As far as the suggestion of a street parade goes. The Penrith and Newcastle Council’s organised the street parades to celebrate their Team’s achievements and the Football Club’s had nothing whatsoever to do with the organisation of those events. Clearly in my view it is not up to the Club to organize a street parade.
Once again may I thank you for your strong support through the year.

Utai will use emotion to overcome Test pain
12 October 2004
Recalled Kiwis winger Matt Utai will use emotion to overcome any pain he feels from an ankle needing surgery when he faces Australia in the opening Tri Nations rugby league Test on Saturday.
Fresh from scoring two tries in the Bulldogs' NRL grand final triumph 10 days ago, Utai will end his season with the Test at North Harbour Stadium near Auckland.
While the Kiwis travel on to Britain for the rest of the Tri Nations tournament, the former Aucklander will head back to Sydney for an operation.
Utai has been troubled by the ankle for some months and the need for off-season surgery initially made him doubtful for the test, before agreement was reached to delay surgery.
He admitted he had pulled up sore in early training with the Kiwis this week.
"All I can do is toughen up for this one last game and then fly back to Australia and get the op done," he said.
"I'll just let my emotions take over. It's mostly a mental thing. I played with it in the grand final and it felt good then."
